Youth Vendor Day at the Ellington Farmers' Market
Join us this Saturday as we welcome future food growers to Youth Market Day. The young folks in our community have been working their gardens all summer and will display and sell the fruits of their labor this Saturday. Please come and support our local youth who have nurtured their own crops that are now ready to be enjoyed by all. Help preserve Ellington's rich agricultural heritage and encourage young people to cultivate a love of nature, gardening, farming and the local food movement. Guest vendors include local fresh, luscious peaches from Johnny Appleseed Orchard, Summer's Sweetest melons, Green Valley Heritage Pork and Blessed Creek with their all natural cleaning products. Our special guest vendors this week is Manchester's own Great Harvest Bread and Hall Hill Garden Pies. Entertainment this week will be provided by Doofus Music, the quartet of John and Heidi Cerrigione and Neal and Coleen Walters, who draw their tunes from many traditional sources, including fiddle and dance music of early America, the British Isles and Switzerland. Jigs, reels, hornpipes and waltzes all find a place in the lineup. Bring your dancing shoes and join us this Saturday from 9 AM to noon.
