Ellington Farmers' Market Upcoming Events

The Ellington Farmers' Market has a great lineup planned as we move through July and into August.

This week the market celebrates the cucumber.  There will be everything from from an abundance of this local and fresh vegetable to a variety of pickles and salads and even a demonstration on how to make your own cucumber body spray at 10:00.

An Edible Animal Contest will be held on Aug. 2nd. Bring your edible animal creations to the big gazebo at 9:00 to be entered in the contest. Market customers will vote for their favorites throughout the morning, winner will be announced at 12:00.  Gift certificates to the market will be awarded to the top three entries.  Scan you gardens, vegetable stands and cupboards, let your imaginations run wild and join the fun!

Everything peaches will be the theme on Aug 9th were you can once again enjoy fresh peach shortcake along with a wide variety of peach products including jams, salsas and baked goods.

On Aug. 16th the market invites area youth, 17 and under, who have grown their own produce to participate in Youth Market Day.  There is no charge for participation but youth must provide their own tents and tables.  Applications can be found here.

The second annual and most anticipated Zucchini 500 Drag Race will take place on Aug 23rd.
