Ellington Farmers' Market Seeking Partners.

Although the snow is still flying, it's time to think about the warmth of spring, growing new things and preparing for our town's most popular weekly event, Ellington Farmers' Market.  Last summer the market exploded in popularity among those in the community who value "clean" eating and want to support local food growers and entrepreneurs

The market implemented its new Power of Produce program for the children of our community and several hands-on events were held throughout the season that encouraged young people to understand where food comes from and how it is grown, and to participate in their own cultivation of healthy eating habits. We would like to continue and even expand that program this season.

Our market patrons are able each Saturday to visit with friends and neighbors, enjoy top-notch musical entertainment, purchase healthy, locally-grown and produced food and specialty items and take part in special theme events including our hilarious Zuchini 500 squash car race and the always-popular Halloween Pet Parade.  Many of our events are becoming popular town-supported traditions.   Our senior citizens look forward to the ritual of setting out their lawn chairs on a sunny Saturday morning and relaxing with a cup of steaming coffee while they listen to a talented local musical group or solo artist.

         We would like to continue to grow as the “place to be” on Saturday mornings from May through October.  With your help we can expand our market special events and offer a wider variety of entertainment.  As an EFM MARKET PARTNER you can share in the customer excitement and advertising that our 2014 market events will generate.
