Celebrating the Apple at the Ellington Farmers' Market

As we enter our final month of the market season, we celebrate the crisp, cool days of autumn in New England and our favorite fall fruit - the fresh, local apple.  Join us for our Apple Festival this Saturday from 9 to noon with Luann's Bakery serving fresh apple crisp, and enjoy either hot or cold cider while you walk the grounds visiting our wide variety of vendor booths.   Horse Listeners Orchard will have several varieties of yummy, local apples on hand for your purchasing and crunching pleasure.  Guest vendors this week include Paper Sculpture by Kelly, Sunshine and Flowers by Goldie and GourmAvian heritage chicken. Music will be provided by The Uncle Flatty Band, winner of the 2012 Whalie Award.  There is still plenty of fresh local produce to take home, so bring your baskets and bags to carry home goodness and freshness from your local farmers and food growers.
