Leadership Greater Hartford Spawns "40 Under Forty" Leaders

One-quarter of Hartford Business Journal's "40 Under Forty" honorees have either graduated or participated in Leadership Greater Hartford's Quest and Leaders On Board programs.

Quest, Leadership Greater Hartford's signature leadership development program, brings together rising and established leaders from the corporate, government, nonprofit, academic and small business sectors.  Each year 50 professionals are selected to participate in the program, which provides them the opportunity to build the skills, contacts, and knowledge of the community needed to be effective in their careers and in serving their communities.  Clearly the following "40 Under Forty" have proven this to be true:  Anthony Barrett, Boys & Girls Club of Hartford, Inc. (Quest 2011), Joe Bierbaum, Stone Academy (Quest 2012), Mario Bruno, American Red Cross CT and RI (Quest 2008), Matthew Carbray, Carbray Staunton Financial Partners LLC (Quest 2009), Emily Gianquinto, Reid & Riege, PC  (Quest 2011), Tauheedah Jaskson, Boys & Girls Club of Hartford, Inc. (Quest 2010),  Julie Krug, PMA Companies (Quest 2011), and Joshua Reese, Camp Courant  (Quest 2010).  The next Quest class begins January 16, 2014.  Applications are currently being accepted.

Leaders On Board participants were also prominently represented in the "40 Under Forty",  namely:  Christopher Davis, State of Connecticut, Josh Reese, Camp Courant, and Caitlin Thayer, Barefoot Media.  Leaders On Board is a program for civic-minded professionals that trains and connects participants with nonprofit organizations seeking new members for their Boards of Directors. Since January 2009, Leaders on Board has successfully matched nearly 300 individuals with more than 75 nonprofit organizations.  The next Leaders On Board orientation program is September 17, 2014.
