"Restaurant: Impossible," Pastori's Style

The Food Network is heading to Ellington to transform Pastori's Restaurant.

Ellington’s own is getting a makeover.

Pastori’s has been chosen by Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible” for a two day, $10,000 transformation.

Pastori’s, owned by Bill and Georgia Savvidis, has been a staple in town for over 20 years.  The Savvidis’s  are unable to really discuss the changes about to take place at their restaurant, but Bill Savvidis did talk about how he and the rest of the staff were feeling in the final days leading up to the big reveal.

“We’re real excited about it, that’s for sure….everyone’s excited,” he said.

Pastori’s has a Facebook page to keep their customers up to date on all of the events, like karaoke, and specials they have during the week.  They posted a comment to let everyone know about the Food Network’s help.

“Thanks to everyone who called for reservations for May 19th. And to those who keep calling. We are BOOKED for the evening. But we will be open all weekend please stop in and see The New and Improved Pastoris!! We are very excited to see what Chef Robert Irvine has in store for us. :)” the page said.

Savvidis said that they had phone calls coming into the restaurant and booked 300 seats in 20 minutes.

“I tried to put seats down for my mother!” he said.

Chef Robert Irvine will renovate the restaurant, staff, and even its menu, which is known to be filled with Italian style pizza, pasta, and seafood dishes.

The Food Network will be taping at Pastori’s from May 17 until May 19 when the restaurant reopens to the public.
