New Restaurant Approved for Former Hops Location in Manchester

The Market Grill is planned as an upscale restaurant and wine bar with a large patio area and outdoor fire pit.

On Monday, the Manchester Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved an application that would bring a new upscale restaurant and wine bar to the site of the former Hops Restaurant at 110 Buckland Hills Dr. 

Plans for the new restaurant, known as the , include seating for 291 patrons indoors, a 72-seat bar and a separate wine tasting section, and a spacious outdoor patio area that can fit another 101 patrons with its own separate bar and fire pit.

The applicant was Helmar Wolf, president of the Mill Restaurant Group, which also owns the Mill on the River Restaurant in South Windsor, who could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
