New Aerial Forest Ropes Park Comes to Area

The attraction promises outdoor fun for children (age 7 and up) and adults.

A new family-friendly outdoor adventure park has made its way to the area.

The Adventure Park at Storrs celebrated its Grand Opening Wednesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony and climbing demonstrations.

The new attraction, which opened on May 10, is Connecticut’s second “aerial forest ropes park," featuring five different “aerial trails” or “courses” of different challenge levels that take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to complete, according to a news release.

Local landowners Lynn Stoddard and her husband Chris Kueffner are said to have realized their dream.

“When we purchased this land we hoped to find some way to use it in an eco-friendly manner,” Stoddard said in a prepared statement. “When we learned about Outdoor Ventures Group and their Adventure Parks, we knew immediately we had found the right thing for our property," she said.

The park is located at 2007 Storrs Rd. General admission prices are $38 for ages 12 and older; $33 for ages 10-11 and $28 for ages 7-9. The park is open from 9 a.m. to dusk on weekends, with summer hours starting June 17, from 9 a.m. to dusk all week long.
