Manchester Loses Another Friendly's Location

The Friendly's at 199 Spencer St. closed Sunday.

Just months after , Friendly's also closed its Spencer Street location on Sunday, leaving only one remaining Friendly's Restaurant in town. 

The news was announced in a statement Monday saying that the restaurant chain was closing an additional nine Connecticut locations, according to NBC Connecticut, including its Manchester location at  The report by NBC Connecticut cited an inability to restructure lease agreements with various landlords to "reflect current market conditions." 

Friendly's also closed locations in Glastonbury, Middletown, Waterbury, Branford, Clinton, North Haven, Wallingford and Norwich Sunday as well.

The news comes just months after Friendly's filed for bankruptcy protection in October and announced that it was closing 63 locations, including the Friendly's inside the Shoppes at Buckland Hills mall. There are also reports that Friendly's have closed four locations in western Massachusetts and five more in the Albany area

The  is now the only remaining Friendly's location in town.

Restaurants in Enfield and Vernon are still open as well.
