Connecticut Commercial Realty & Select Homes Versed in all Aspects of Real Estate

The company, which has been around for 22 years, began with just commercial endeavors, but has now expanded its horizons.

No matter what kind of real estate you’re involved with, the friendly staff at can help.

“Pretty much if you can buy it, sell it, lease it, rent it – whatever, if it has to do with using a property, we’re happy to help. We can do it,” said Victoria Clark, the firm’s C.E.O. and managing broker of the residential and commercial operations in the Somers office.

The business, which has been around for 22 years, was started by Clark’s father. At the time, the focus was strictly commercial, but over the years, the services have evolved.

“We added our select homes division, which is doing residential work,” Clark said. “We also do certified appraisals – so we can do commercial and residential appraisal work. We’ve done property auctions, we’re doing some property management right now.”

The company has 17 associates between the two offices – Somers and New London – and there is a family feel to it.

“We are a family firm,” Clark said. “We really are always focused at looking at our staff as an extension of our family, and we’re really proud to have every one of the associates we have with us.”

Another thing that Clark is proud of is the survival ability of her company during down economic times.

“I’m actually really proud in this market to be one of the few independent firms left standing,” she said. “It’s been a rocky ride and I think it will continue to be a rocky ride for those of us in real estate for another few years, but we have been able to maintain a good footing in the marketplace and we don’t plan to go anywhere.”

Clark said that a goal is to grow in this marketplace.

“I think that we offer a unique service in the commercial venue in that we are not focused on leasing major shopping centers, but we are more focused on servicing the small mom and pop owned companies – the smaller spaces that sometimes get overlooked by the large commercial brokerage houses,” she said.

A main focus at Connecticut Commercial Realty & Select Homes is service.

“We are a full service company,” Clark said. “Service is our focus. We don’t just take a listing and leaving. It’s really important to us that our clients feel that they got the service they hired us for. Quality is way more important to me than quantity. Offering quality service and having time to spend with people and really giving them what they’re paying for, is way more important to me than having 5,000 listings and not being able to service them.”

She continued, “It’s always my focus to take the high road and to make whatever that decision is that’s in the best interest of my client and help them in whatever their situation is. I think that this economy has created a lot of uncomfortable situations for a lot of people. It’s nice to feel that you were able to help somebody out of something. Yes it’s my job, it’s what I do, but it’s nice to help them move on to whatever the next piece of their life is.”

Clark says that she loves meeting new people and that it’s fun to get out there and see different things and meet different people.

“There’s a house for everybody, there is a buyer for everything,” she said. “It’s fun to see the whole spectrum. I’ve sold everything from a $10,000 piece of land, to million dollar plus homes, to shopping centers. It’s everything in between.”

In addition being involved in the community professionally, Clark is also involved personally.

“I really do like to be involved in community events and community service, whatever form that takes,” she said.
