Marvin's Room

Marvin's Room performances take place on November 12, 13, and 14 at 7:30 pm, in the Gordon C. Getchell Auditorium at EHS.

About Marvin's Room, from the Opening Knight Players:

"The cast and crew are all in place, and the real work has finally begun on our first production of the year. It's a comedy...or rather, a dramedy, called Marvin's Room, written by Scott McPherson and directed by our never-failing director Mr. Prenetta, with assistance from the lovely senior Amber K. Marvin's Room centers around some serious subject matter, though there is plenty of room for a bit of laughter, particularly in the scenes with Aunt Ruth. The play reflects on the importance of selfless love, and how it effects the members of one troubled family. Look for a plot-synpopsis update, on the off-chance I decide I want to give it away...For now, though, I encourage anyone reading this--who isn't already involved--to find out what this play is all about by attending one of our shows! Our play takes place in the 80's, so our costumes, props, and set crews will be delving into the era up until that final week, making sure everything is relevent to the time and also practical for a production. The cast, on the other hand, will delve into the characters they are portraying. Our director has placed a focus on how real these characters are, so the cast will work endlessly on making these characters seem like people you can connect with or relate to. Size of the role doesn't matter--everyone will be responsible for creating someone believable. There's some tough work up ahead, and tech week in particular will be a strenuous affair as always, but we're all looking foward to an incredible performance weekend, and we can't wait for all the work to pay off. Come see Marvin's Room November 12, 13, and 14 at 7:30 in the Gordon C. Getchell Auditorium at EHS!Break a leg everyone!"
