Back by Popular Demand - "Where the Sun is Silent" One More Performance Scheduled

Press Release From the Opening Knight Players:

The Ellington High School Drama Group, Opening Knight Players, will be performing "Where the Sun is Silent" again for the public at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 14th at Ellington High School in the Gordon C. Getchell Auditorium. This performance is for educational value so the normal admission of $8 is being waived, however, donations will be accepted to help offset OKP expenses.

The play was performed for the public on March 23rd and 24th and received so much outpouring from the community they decided to perform it once more for the public and also once for the students at Ellington High School. Where the Sun Is Silent is a production written by OKP Director, William Prenetta, and is based on the bullying and suicide of Phoebe Prince, an Irish immigrant, from South Hadley, MA. The trials of the high school students accused of bullying her are currently taking place in Massachusetts. The play was entered into the 2011 CT Drama Association's annual festival on Friday, March 25 earning membership of two of the actors on the All Connecticut Cast. There will be a talkback audience discussion about bullying after the show for those interested in staying.
