According to Images of America: Somers, from the Somers Historical Society:

"This image looks toward the Kibbe Hotel from the center of town in the 1880s. The saltbox on the right burned c.1910 and was replaced by an automobile showroom, which later served as a storage facility for the bounty of Somers potato farmers."

Of the Somers Inn, the book says, "First called the Kibbe Hotel, it was run by Warren Kibbe and then George Kibbe. In 1931, it became the Olde Homestead Inn, run by Alphonse and Hilda Joerg and George and Emmy Schiessl. It was renamed the Somers Inn in the early 1960s."
