Viewfinder: Scenes from Ellington and Somers

Over the past week there has been an opportunity to take some breathtaking pictures of the fog rolling over Cyrstal Lake and some beaucolic shots of cows gazing out into a field, or the bottom of a feed bucket.

Then, you stumble across something unexpected, something that touches your heart, like the Coast Guard personnel stationed outside the Community United Methodist Church at Crystal Lake standing guard during the funeral service of USCG E1 Edward Wood, a World War II veteran and long-time north central Connecticut resident.

When you take a moment to look around you, you never know what you'll see.
