Pet Parade Closing Ellington Farmers' Market

On the last day of the market, prizes will be awarded to the best dressed pets.

The Ellington Farmers' Market is ending its season with a Halloween pet parade and contest on Saturday.

Participants should bring pets dressed in their Halloween finery to the market by 10 a.m. to participate. The winners will be chosen by audience participation via cheering and clapping.

Participants are encouraged to invite friends and family to support their pet and increase the chances of winning several cash prizes.

Last year, the parade attracted several participants and the best pet costume went to Hannah, a Neapolitan Mastiff who was dressed as a scuba diver and owned by Billy and Ashley Pillard.

The best pet/owner combo went to Andrew Clark and his German Shepherd Shadow, who were dressed a soccer player and a referee.
