The New England Civil War Museum will be open twice each month through March.

The doors will be open for exhibit viewing from noon to 3 p.m. on:

• Dec. 8 and 22.
• Jan. 12 and 26.
• Feb. 9 and 23.
• March 9 and 23.

The museum is run by the Alden Skinner Camp No. 45, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and is located in a fully preserved Grand Army of the Republic Hall on the second floor of the Vernon Town Hall.

The hall looks like it did in the 1800s for post-war meetings.

The museum features artifacts like uniforms, artwork, recruiting posters, weapons, and even a few personal items from local soldiers.
