Late Veteran to be Inducted into 2013 Ellington Wall of Honor

Homer R. Peckham was selected out of a number of individuals.

The Board of Selectmen has announced that the late Homer R. Peckham will be inducted into the 2013 Ellington Wall of Honor.

Homer Peckham lived most of his life in Ellington and it is where he and his wife Kay raised their children, Jaime and Marianne. 

"Peckham made many outstanding contributions to the Ellington community," the town said in a news release. "He served with distinction on the Board of Tax Review and numerous civic organizations."

Peckham, a World War II veteran, had been an involved person in the Ellington community. He passed away in 2012. Click here to read his obituary.

A formal induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the site of the wall located in Arbor Park [off of Main Street]. The public is welcome to attend.
