Four Town Fair Quickly Approaching

The annual fair in Somers will take place on Sept. 13-16.

Next week fairgoers will celebrate the 174th , which will take place on Sept. 13-16 at the in Somers.

Admission is $6 on Thursday, $8 the other days, and children under the age of 12 are free. On Thursday and Friday, senior citizens are $5. A weekend pass (all four days) can be purchased for $20. Parking is free for the fair, which covers the towns of Somers, Ellington, Enfield, and East Windsor.

Each of the days, visitors will find antique and farm machinery, livestock, agricultural exhibits, demonstrations and stage entertainment, children’s contests, and Bingo.

There will also be an antique car show, Doodlebug pulling contests, and livestock pulls – including oxen, ponies, and horses – during the fair.

New to the fair this year is a pie eating contest, which will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Lego is also a new addition to the fair and will have a tent where the kids can come check out the Legos.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., the will be held. It will run from Main Street in Somers to the fairgrounds.

In addition to all the activities and demonstrations are all the rides you can ride, all the food you can eat, and all the games you can play!
