Holiday Weekend Happenings at Ellington Farmers' Market

Finally summer has arrived in all it's glory!  If you are hanging around home this holiday weekend come and celebrate our country's birthday this Saturday at the Ellington Farmers' Market in Arbor Park.  Wear your red, white and blue hat and show patriotic pride...you might just win a market certificate to spend on the healthy, delicious Connecticut-grown produce that is streaming into the market as summer moves forward.  Come and listen to the Old Tyme Fiddlers and bring home fresh strawberries...possibly the last opportunity of this season.  If you are having company for the holiday weekend, bring them along and treat them to local and fresh...our community at its best!

Here's whats Happening:

  • Patriotic Hat Contest- Everyone wearing a patriotic hat in entered in a raffle to win a market gift certificate.
  • Patriotic Hat Parade at 10:00- Market customers will choose the person with the most creative hat and the winner will receive a market gift certificate.
  • Connecticut Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers Club will provide entertainment all morning.
  • Kids can participate in the Power of Produce Club where they are sampling red white and blue kabobs.  Each child receives a $2 token to use for the purchase of fresh produce.  Empower your children to make healthy food choices.
  • A huge variety of fresh produce, dairy, beef, chicken, seafood, pork, baked goods, specialty foods and artisan wares will be available for purchase.
Don't forget your cloth bags and basket to transport your goodies, and have a safe and fun holiday weekend.
