Connecticut Water to flush water mains in Ellington and Somers

The Connecticut Water Company will be flushing its water mains in the towns of Ellington and Somers between April 14 and May 16. Routine flushing helps to maintain water quality by scouring the inside of the water mains.

Water main flushing will take place in Somers, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In Ellington, flushing will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The schedule is as follows:
Somers: April 14 – April 17
Ellington: April 14 – May 16

During water main flushing it is possible that some customers may experience discolored water and pressure fluctuations. The discolored water should clear within a few hours. While experiencing discolored water, customers should avoid using their washing machine, dishwasher, or other water using devices. Customers should call Connecticut Water at 1-800-286-5700 if discolored water persists for more than a few hours.
