Laurel I. (Anderson) Luetjen, 69, of Ellington, passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She leaves her life companion, best friend and love for many years Daniel Connors.
Born in Rockville, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian Anderson, she was a lifelong resident of Ellington. Laurel was employed for many years at the former Zahner's Shoe Shop in Rockville and the former Valley Fish Market in Ellington. In her recent years, she enjoyed raising farm animals and selling fresh eggs in Ellington with her longtime companion Daniel. She was known in the area for her Orange 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge. Laurel enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved hummingbirds, ladybugs, the Yankees, UCONN Women's Basketball, Mario Andretti and Elvis Presley.
In addition to Daniel, she is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Luetjen of Rockville and many family members and very dear friends. She was predeceased by her son, Roger T. Luetjen.
Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 4pm – 7pm at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a memorial service beginning at 7 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family.
