Davida (Stavnezer) Sutherland, 69, of Ellington, loving wife of Dennis Sutherland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2012.
Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Louis and Shirley (Kruh) Stavnezer, she grew up and lived in New Britain and Bloomfield before moving to Ellington over 36 years ago. Prior to her retirement, Davida was a bookkeeper at U. S. Drywall of East Hartford for thirteen years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed camping with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved daughters, Robin Devanney and her husband Michael of Tolland and Linda Sutherland of Vernon; three grandchildren, Christian, Krystal and Alyssa; a brother, Jacob "Moe" Stavnezer of Plainville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Ellington Center Cemetery, 95 Maple Street, Ellington. A memorial period will be observed at the family home in Ellington on Tuesday following the service.
