Last night the American people incredulously reelected Barack Obama for a second presidential term. Four more years of Barack Obama spells the end of the America in which I was born and the American dream in particular.
There has never been a more fiscally irresponsible President in the history of the United States. Obama has accumulated more national debt in 4 short years than the sum of all debt accumulated by all Presidents who preceded him. Jimmy Carter, who widely has been considered to be the worst President from an economic policy standpoint, now appears to be a brilliant economist when compared to Obama.
What has happened to the nation of opportunity that rewards entrepreneurship and encourages new business development? The Obama-nation has replaced this with a country of dependence on government. Why has the Democratic Party turned away from Jack Kennedy's famous sentiment "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country"? It has been replaced by the Obama team's reversal of this famous quote, namely "Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you."
I encourage everyone who is actually working to stop by any bank in our Northeast cities on the first or third of the month if you want to see your taxpayer dollars at work. You will be disgusted at the able bodied lazy slugs who stand in line collecting our tax money instead of actually doing something to earn money. The problem is that the safety net put into effect by FDR has now become a permanent means of support for an ever growing segment of the population who has no desire or intention to work. I am not intending to include in this paragraph those workers who have lost a job as a result of the lousy economy made worse by Obama who understandably need help for a short period of time. Rather, I am appalled by the folks who use the system as their sole source of income and will continue doing so indefinitely.
We had an opportunity to elect a true leader last night who has experience running businesses and understands how to turn around failing enterprises. Mitt Romney proved this by turning around the horrific economy in Massachusetts, rescuing the Salt Lake City Olympics and by turning Bain Capital into a thriving business. What experience does Barack Obama have relative to fixing this economy? He has no business experience whatsoever and being a community leader supplemented by a brief stint in the Senate hardly qualifies him to take the helm of this sinking ship. Obama was completely ineffective in his first 4 years as a leader, so what makes anyone think this will get any better in the next 4 years?
Evidently, Barack Obama fails to recognize that this country is heading down the exact same path as our nation's banks a few years ago with the failed mortgages. Just like the homeowners who took on debt with their homes that was unsustainable, Obama is taking on Chinese and other debt for his outrageous and reckless spending programs. Much like the overextended homeowners, we will need to pay the price for this recklessness. The problem is that Obama will be long gone by the time this issue comes to roost. How are we going to explain this to our grandchildren (other than I did NOT vote for him)? It would appear that Obama is oblivious to the fate of a few countries in Western Europe, namely Greece and Spain, which illustrate the points I am making in this paragraph about dependency on government and unsustainable debt.
This President is incapable of setting aside his ego to work with both parties to craft a sensible means of reversing the economic and job slump. Mitt Romney proved his ability to work with Democrats while serving as Governor of Massachusetts (which legislature is dominated by Democrats). Obama, in contrast, has proven to be incapable of compromise as evidenced by his "my way or the highway" bullish approach to healthcare reform.
I pray to God that I will be proven wrong and Obama will change his spots in the second term. However, I am a realist who understands that people do not change radically for any meaningful period of time. Thus, I think Obama will head us into a new era of America whereby the government stifles creativity, rewards laziness and punishes success.
