Phone-a-Thon, Ham Radios and Gaga for Country

1. According to Weather.com, the forecast for Ellington and Somers calls for a high of 44ºF under sunny skies. The overnight low will be 27ºF and clear. 

2. The Ellington Community Scholarship Association will be conducting their 29th today and tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. Your tax-deductible contribution will help high school seniors in Ellington continue their education. Anyone who is not contacted during the Phone-a-Thon, and who wish to contribute can send a donation to ESCA, PO Box 54, Ellington, CT 06029. People interested in establishing a permanent fund may inquire at the same address.

5. A Happy birthday shout out goes to Lady Gaga, who turns 24 today. Lady Gaga, who's real name is reported to be Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, tweeted over the weekend that she just recorded a country vesion of her song, Born This Way, complete with slide guitar and harmonica! Expect this song to be released on her next album on May 23. In the meantime, take a listen to the difference between the two on YouTube:
