Chanukah Celebrated in Arbor Park

Residents and dignitaries alike attended the kindling of the 9-foot Menorah.

On Thursday evening, a celebration of Chanukah was held in Ellington's .

Led by Rabbi Yosef Wolvovsky of the Chabad Jewish Center in Glastonbury, the event was open to all and featured hot cider, potato Latkes, music and a raffle.

The highlight of the celebration was the kindling of a special 9-foot Menorah. Not only was the candelabra giant, so was a dradle, which entertained children while Wolvovsky spoke of the traditions and significance of Chanukah.

State Rep. Christopher Davis and State Sen. Gary LeBeau were on hand for the festivities, each making short speeches and wishing everyone a happy Chanukah.
